Traffic Delays: Victory for Veterans Ride September 30, 2018

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - TRAFFIC DELAY ADVISORY FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2018

Sunday, Sept. 30th, which is the 19th Annual Victory for Veterans Memorial Ride at Wicker Park and we are making our best effort to give advance notification to all the residents and businesses in each community involved.. Last year we had 2200 motorcycles in the police escorted procession. Given that the route is 27 miles long with the procession almost equal in size, we are issuing a traffic delay advisory during the hours of 11am - 1pm on Sunday, Sept. 30th. You can expect lengthy delays along the route for up to 1 hour as the motorcycle procession passes through. If you do have to be out traveling in the area, we recommend that you avoid the route shown as all traffic will be delayed at all intersections by police vehicles from each city or town, including Lake County Sheriff & Indiana State Police. The route proceeds west from Wicker Park on Ridge Road to Calumet Ave., South on Calumet Ave to Route 30, East on Route 30 to Route 55 (Taft or Cleveland) North on Route 55 to Ridge Road, then West on Ridge Road back to Wicker Park. We appreciate your cooperation and your support of our nations' veterans.
