The Town of Schererville Board of Safety seeks to hire suitable State of Indiana certified Police applicants to immediately serve as Police Officers for the Town of Schererville, subject to all applicable state statutes and guidelines required by the Indiana Public Employment Retirement Fund for Police Officers (INPRS).
The Schererville Police Department will be accepting applications for Police Officer beginning Tuesday November 19th, 2024 at 9:00 AM. The application must be submitted by Monday December 20th, 2024 by 4:00 PM.
Applicants that qualify can obtain an application from the Town of Schererville website / Facebook page or the Schererville Police Department Facebook page.

The Schererville Police Department offers:
- 2025 Probationary starting salary $60,194.94 2025
- 1st class patrolman salary $74,980.36
- Lateral hires may be waived to 1st Class Patrolman upon completion of 6 months of service (subject to Board of Safety approval0
- Clothing allowance of $1,339.00 after the first year
- Longevity pay up to $1,800.00 (stipend at the end of the year)
