Project Lifesaver

How It Works:
The program relies on proven technology and a specially trained search & rescue team. Lifesaver clients wear a wristband hat emits a silent tracking signal. When caregivers call 9-1-1 and report a loved one missing, a search & rescue team responds to the area and starts searching with state-of-the-art tracking equipment. Using this technology, search times have been reduced from hours and days to within minutes. In over 1,800 searches nationwide, there have been no reported serious injuries or deaths, and recoveries average less than 30 minutes. The Schererville and the Crown Point Fire Departments are trained and serve all of Lake County.

How Much Does Project Lifesaver Cost?:
The Town of Schererville currently provides this service at no cost to its residents.
