Utility Billing

Application for Service

Customers applying for service are required to sign an Application for Service form at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office and present a government-issued ID.  Application for service should be completed at least three days prior to needing service at a location. This practice also applies to existing customers moving to new locations within the Town of Schererville.

Payment Due Date

Water bills are due on the 24th of each month. If the 24th falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), it is due the following Monday. If it is due on a Holiday that our office is closed, it will be accepted the following day without penalty. Billing is two months behind.

There are several ways you can pay your bill:

Automatic Withdrawal
*Most Popular Payment Method*

You can set up the ability for water utility payments to be automatically withdrawn from your bank monthly. Applications for this can be found in person at the Clerk-Treasurer Office or by downloading the following file: Auto-Withdrawal Registration Application.

This must be done through a checking account and not a savings account. Please remember to include a voided check with your application.

By Mail or In Person

You can stop by the Clerk-Treasurer office Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm or drop off your check in a dropbox located in the front and rear of Town Hall (10 East Joliet St.).

Additionally, you can also mail your check to the Town Hall.

By Phone

The Town of Schererville is offering a new way to pay your utility bill. Call our toll free payment line at (844)321-9513, available 24/7. It's easy and convenient. Please have your account number ready for when you call.
