Notice to Schererville Residents

The Schererville Town Dump, located at the Schererville Public Works Dept, will reopen for use on Wednesday December 18, 2024.
Site improvements to the facility have been completed. Please be advised that our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm, 3 Saturdays a year- occurring the 1st Saturday of the months of May, August and November.
The following are regulations for using the dump facilities:
- The town dump is only intended for a small amount of household waste on an occasional basis.
- Users must be a Town of Schererville resident, ID must be shown.
- No construction debris will be allowed.
- No electronics
- No paint, oil, gas, aerosols, solvents, stain, adhesives, pesticides etc.
- No asphalt
- No concrete
- No shingles
- No hazardous waste
- Limit of 1 pickup truck will be allowed per household with a maximum of 1 cubic yard.
- Only tires 18 inches in diameter or smaller will be accepted.
***Failure to comply with these regulations shall result in citations, fines, and permanent revocation of dumping privileges. ***
