Starting February 9th, 2021 thru March 9th, 2021, the Schererville Police Department will be having an emergency hire process.

The Town of Schererville Board of Safety seeks to hire suitable State of Indiana or Illinois certified applicants to immediately serve as police officers for the Town of Schererville, subject to all applicable state statutes and guidelines required by, the Indiana Public Employment Retirement Fund for Police Officers (INPRS).

The Schererville Police Department will be accepting applications for police officer beginning Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 9:00 A.M. The application process will remain open until Tuesday March 9, 2021 no later than 4:00 P.M.  Applicants that qualify can obtain an application from the Town of
Schererville website (https://www.schererville.org/).

Completed applications must be submitted via e-mail to (tarvanitis@schererville.org), Sgt. Tim Arvanitis. All required documents must be submitted upon request.

WAGES / BENEFITS
*2021 1st class patrolman salary $65,978.42 (2021 Probationary starting salary $52,977.60)
*Clothing Allowance
*Take home car

*Dental / Vision
*12 Hr. Patrol Shifts
*Patrol equipped with SUVs
*1st Class Master Patrolman*
*Lateral hires may be waived to 1st Class Patrolman upon completion of one year of service.
