Where: South Side of US-30 just west of HWY330, outer eastbound & westbound lanes of US 30 to be closed
When: May 18, 2023 approx. 8am - 2pm
Why: NIPSCO Utility Work

In Schererville, starting Thursday, May 18 NIPSCO will be performing work to bore electrical lines under US-30 as part of a new electrical substation build located on the south side of US-30 , just west of HWY330 which will result in temporary lane closures to include short duration closures.

Work will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m CT and is expected to last one day. This schedule is dependent on weather conditions.

The outer eastbound and westbound lanes of US-30 will be closed simultaneously with traffic redirected into the open lanes. There will also be short duration intervals not expected to last more than 15 minutes when all lanes will be closed. Please exercise extra caution when traveling near marked construction zones. Be sure to slow down and follow the direction of flaggers, on-site crew members and posted signs.

NIPSCO contractor, Robert Henry Corporation will be doing this work.
Customers are not expected to experience any interruptions to their existing electric service because of this work and crews will work as quickly as safely as possible to complete this portion of the projects. NIPSCO thanks the community for their patience.
