What: Road Closure
Where: Austin St. Between 77th Ave. & 85th Ave. (St. John & Schererville Area)
When: Starting Tuesday May 31st at 7:30am - 3:30pm each day (Monday - Thrusday) through June 9th, weather permitting. EXTENSION - This roadwork has been extended to June 13th - June 16th.
Why: Drainage Repairs
The Lake County Highway Department is notifying all Public Agencies and the general public that Austin St. between 77th Ave. & 85th Ave. will be closed for drainage repair starting Monday, May 31st at 7:30am until 3:30pm each day(Monday thru Thursday) through June 9th, weather permitting.
Work has been extended to run from June 13th - June 16th.
Detour Routes:
Northbound: At 85th Ave. & Austin, take 85th Ave. east to Cline, take Cline north to 77th Ave., take 77th Ave. west to Austin.
Southbound: At 77th Ave. & Ausitn, take 77th Ave. east to cline, take Cline south to 85th Ave., take 85th west to Austin.
During the periods of construction, you may encounter some minor inconveniences. However, every effort will be made to minimize these inconveninces. Detour signs will be set up to help you navigate around the project. If you are a resident on this road we ask that you slow down and leave space between you and other vehicles and drive distraction-free. Always use caustion and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
