With the extremely cold weather coming up the next few days, Schererville Public Works Water Dept. wants to inform the Public on how to prevent frozen water pipes in your home.
- Let cold water drip out of the faucet. As long as water is circulating through the plumbing, even at a drip, it should help prevent freezing.
- Open up cabinets that house plumbing so warmer air in your home can reach it more easily.
- If your water lines run through your garage, keep it closed.
- Keep your heat set to the same temperature during the night and day.
