Currently the bike officers are Cpl. Michael Vode, Ofc. Stephen Burton, Ofc. Jeffrey Myszak and, Ofc. Christopher Lopez. Schererville PD added two additional Trek bikes in 2009, bringing the total of patrol bikes to five. Officers are on bike patrol during the months of April thru October. They patrol all areas of the Town of Schererville, paying special attention to the parks and bike paths. Bike officers are also used during subdivision garage sales as they are able to easily maneuver around for traffic control.
