Connecting IL and IN via the Old Plank Road Trail:

The Old Plank Road Trail Extension Feasibility Study is assessing the potential
to connect the existing Old Plank Road Trail eastern terminus in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the Pennsey Greenway in Schererville, Indiana via an inactive rail line. Alternative trail alignments and connectivity to the surrounding communities will also be explored.

Project Partners:
Chicago Heights, Dyer, Ford Heights, Lynwood, Sauk Village, Schererville, South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, the Forest Preserves of Cook and Will Counties, Openlands and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning

South Suburban Cook County and Northwest Indiana
