As of September 2019 all Lake County Solid Waste recycling drop off centers were closed. This includes the Schererville dropoff located at the end of Kaeser boulevard.
The decision was due to continual increases in illegal dumping and contamination.
This closure only impacts recycling dropoff points.
LCSWMD advises residents without curbside recycling to contact their garbage hauler for curbside recycling options.
