We have been asked to share the following message from the Franciscan Health Fitness Centers who are collecting homemade masks to donate to local hospitals:
Franciscan Health Fitness Centers is collecting homemade face masks for use at our local hospitals. While our infection preventionists still agree that our medical staff not wear homemade masks, we understand currently that non-clinical staff and patients/visitors can wear them. We are asking the community to help with this important need.
We will be collecting homemade masks and other N-95 masks that the community may have available.
Donations must be dropped off at the Franciscan Health Fitness Centers Schererville location (formerly know as OMNI 41) located at 221 US HWY 41, Schererville, IN 46375. Please enter the marked door underneath the center overhang Tuesday 4/7 through Friday 4/10 between the hours of 8am and 2pm. Before leaving home, please place your masks into a sealed paper or plastic bag. Mark on the outside of the bag with the count of how many masks that are inside that your are donating. There will be a plastic tote provided in our hallway for the public to deposit their donation.
