The Schererville Fire Department is asking residents to please clear the area around fire hydrants in front of or near your homes. In the event of an emergency, a cleared hydrant can save precious time for firefighters.
It's recommended that 3 feet all the way around a hydrant is cleared of snow to provide the best access to it.
