Town of Schererville residents annual pet licenses are due by March 31, 2022.
Fees are as follows:
- Spayed or neutered DOGS and CATS $ 5.00
- Non-spayed or non-neutered DOGS 20.00
- Non-spayed or non-neutered CATS 10.00
Town ordinance #1549 limits residents to owning & licensing 5 dogs and/or cats.
You may license your pet for the year 2022 starting January 4, 2022 at the Schererville Police Department, 25 E. Joliet Street, Schererville, IN 46375 (Phone: 219-322-5000). Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
PLEASE BRING PROOF OF CURRENT SHOT RECORDS AND PROOF OF SPAYING OR NEUTERING. All dogs and cats must be licensed by March 31st of each year per town ordinance.
IF YOU DO NOT LICENSE YOUR DOG OR CAT BY MARCH 31, 2022 YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $10.00 LATE FEE FOR EACH PET. Failure to license your dog or cat could result in fines of $25.00 to $2,500.00. (Ordinance #1549)
WE DO NOT KEEP VACCINATION/NEUTERING RECORDS FROM YEAR TO
YEAR. YOU MUST BRING THESE PAPERS WITH YOU EACH YEAR.
