On Saturday, June 12, the Schererville Parks & Recreation Department, in coordination with the Town of Schererville, will be hosting the Annual Celebrate Schererville Parade. This year's parade theme will be "America Strong". The parade begins at the intersection of Joliet Street and Roman Road at 5:00pm.
Due to the parade, road blocks will be set up on all side streets in and around Joliet Street and Austin Avenue starting at 4:30pm. Austin Avenue will be closed at U.S. 30 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. In addition, Joliet Street will be closed from intersection of Joliet Street and U.S. 30 to the intersection of Joliet Street and Austin avenue during the parade.
Furthermore, there will be several streets around the parade route that will have parking restrictions on Saturday, June 12th. No parking hours on these streets will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Streets with no parking include: Joliet Street, Roman Road, 67th Avenue, 68th Avenue, Kennedy Avenue, Austin Avenue, and Gregory Street. Streets with https://www.schererville.org/events no parking on one (1) side of the street include: Wilhelm Street, Lake Street, Grant Street, South Park Avenue, North Road, Redar Drive, and Schafer Drive. All residents or businesses on these streets are asked to have customers or patrons move their vehicles by 3:00pm to bein compliance with these restrictions.
